From a Dream to a Farm Stand: Bringing a Little Piece of Whuka Farm to Our Community
Some dreams start small. Maybe it's an idea you can't stop thinking about, something you imagine doing someday, or a little vision that keeps growing right alongside you. For us, the Whuka Farm stand has been one of those dreams. 🌿
When we first started looking for the land that would become Whuka Farm, we knew we wanted more than just a house and some property. We wanted a place where our family could grow together, raise animals, plant gardens, learn new things, and build something meaningful. Somewhere along the way, the idea of having our own little farm stand became part of that dream.
And now, we're one step closer to making it a reality!
A Dream Taking Shape
Whuka Farm has always been about more than the animals, gardens, and projects happening around our property. It's about family, hard work, learning as we go, and finding joy in the little things.
The farm stand is another piece of that picture.
We wanted a way to share a little bit of what we're doing here with our community. From eggs gathered from our own flock to homemade baked goods and, eventually, seasonal goodies from our gardens, we hope to offer things that feel simple, homemade, and full of heart.
We're building this one step at a time, just like everything else on the farm.
The Sweet Side of Preparation
If you've been following along, you may already know that I've been working on perfecting some of our baked goods. And let me tell you, there's been plenty of taste-testing happening around here! 😂
Cookies, biscuits, bread—you name it, we've been working on it.
There's been experimenting with recipes, figuring out baking times, adjusting oven temperatures, and trying to get everything just right. Sometimes a batch turns out beautifully, and sometimes it's back to the drawing board.
The hardest part? All that quality control means somebody has to eat the cookies, bread, and biscuits. Apparently, that's a sacrifice we're willing to make! 🤣
But that's part of the process. We want the things we share to be things we're proud of, made with care and a whole lot of love.
The Farm Stand Is Here!
After all the planning and anticipation, our farm stand finally arrived on October 14, 2026! Seeing it here on the farm made the dream feel a little more real.
It's one thing to talk about an idea and imagine what it might look like. It's another thing entirely to see it sitting right here, ready for us to start bringing that vision to life.
Of course, there's still work to do before we're ready to open our doors—or, in this case, our little farm stand! We're taking our time, working through the details, and getting everything ready for the next chapter.
We're excited to share the process along the way, from preparing the stand to figuring out how everything will come together.
Good Things From Our Little Piece of Home
Our hope is to share the things we love about Whuka Farm with the people around us.
We're working toward offering farm-fresh eggs, homemade cookies, biscuits, bread, and seasonal produce and herbs as they're available. What we offer may change with the seasons, what's growing in the garden, and what we're making in the kitchen.
We're a family homestead, so things here are always evolving. There will be learning curves, busy days, little victories, and probably a few funny stories along the way.
And that's okay. We never set out to build something perfect. We set out to build something meaningful.
Growing With Intention
The farm stand is another reminder of why we started this journey in the first place. We wanted to build a life that brought our family together, gave us room to grow, and allowed us to share a little good with the people around us.
We're so grateful to everyone who follows along, encourages us, supports our projects, and celebrates these little milestones with us. Every comment, share, and kind word means more than you know.
This is still a work in progress, but we're excited about what's ahead.
Here's to homemade goodies, fresh eggs, garden harvests, new beginnings, and another dream taking root right here at Whuka Farm.
Grown with intention. Built with love. Shared with our community. 🌿
Welcome to another little piece of our journey.
